Bocconi for Innovation features Rilemo as its case study of the Legal Clinics, which helped the company with advisor agreements, SAFE notes and its intellectual property strategy.
Read the full article on Bocconi for InnovationThe Legal Clinics of Bocconi for Innovation (B4i) pair accelerated startups with practising lawyers and Bocconi law students. Rilemo worked with them for six months, with Aura Bertoni of the law firm McDermott Will & Emery and two students, on three areas: agreements with advisors and first hires, SAFE notes for its investment round, and its intellectual property strategy.
“Their support helped us refine agreements with advisors and partners, prepare SAFE notes for our investment round, and develop a solid intellectual property strategy aligned with our business goals.”
Lidoni describes the starting point as the need to define agreements with early collaborators “ensuring the right balance between flexibility and commitment”, and to balance protecting Rilemo’s intellectual property with developing new know-how together with partners. Tax and finance advice came from Scarioni & Angelucci, and intellectual property support from Bugnion through a pre-acceleration voucher.
